Is there really a 1up if you don't bomb the boat in stage 3?

I bombed in the first part of the stage, but didnt bomb the boat and didnt get a 1up.

You have to destroy everything in the stern first, save the middle part, the everything in the rear of the ship, then take out the mid section and you should receive it. It's quite easy to get wrong even if you know how to do it. :awe:

As long as you completely destroy the boat without bombing you'll get the 1up. It doesn't even matter if you lose a life in the process.

Upped my score by 2m last night.

So, I'm currently at 39m past the midboss on stage 4 - I need to improve on scoring before I go any further into the game.

I have the mechanics down, but my execution is off.

on popcorn swarms, just hit the c shot and then hold down the a shot a fraction of a sec later...like almost in a smooth motion...tap-tap

you will get more 5chips and be able to chain stuff together better

Or press both buttons (A+C) as that will start the lock shot even quicker. :awe: Also, locking on larger enemies then taking out popcorn ones by moving around the screen give more points than just pointblanking the small ones, as the big enemy adds to the small one's score somehow.

thats what i meant...personally if a game has an a + c button i always hold the auto fire(c shot) even when im holding the a shot....makes it easier to switch back and forth

i should have been more clear

Must be all that fine Canadian wee-.. tea. :awe: Thing I used to die from in Ketsui is not using both buttons, but only A. As there's a slight pause before the laser kicks in, you might crash into stuff.

Congratulations on the 1CC, and straight to the top of the learderboard too. Good going. :awe:
lol well to be fair I started posting scores around I think 30 mil and then kept editing the same post as I improved so this wasn't just something that happened overnight. Too bad I suck too much to loop the game. Stupid loops requirements are just nuts..... But thanks a lot for the nice comment my hat's off to you. Is kinda funny how long it took for my score to get updated on the first page :awe:

emphatic is quite right. For the longest time I blew up the parts of the stage 3 midboss in the wrong order and didn't get the one up. Also for the stage 5 midboss you have to clear the turrets at the top of the screen (I use c-shot) before blowing up the second ship that looks like yours to get that hidden 1-up

as for hitting a + c at the same time I never do that. Sometimes I tap a to get the c-effect but I just got used to the timing of things.

I've come that far a handful of times (on 1 credit), but rarely succeed in killing that blue SOB. This does sound like nice advice though. :awe:

Twonk good stuff, might I suggest editing the post and updating the picture that way instead of posting everytime you get a new score?

Yeah, the only post to update should be the first one. The only thread where spamming is a good thing are high score threads really. :awe:

Now that there's a very good port out, is it okay to post 360 scores as well?

Feel free. You'll need to include x360 after the score though, keep it fair. :awe:
