been wanting to start a scoreboard for this amazing game for a while now, in my opinion Toaplans finest moments with music and graphics that are still to die for (the ammount of detail is amazing!), a shame they never ported this game.
thistime i used my autofire circuit, its a mixed bessing in this game, saves my fragile wrists and makes using the 3way easy as pie, however it renders the stick-jerking weapon AND the superburner completely useless making accidental weapon pickups a real bitch and recoveries are much harder, especially in the 2nd loop...
I think a basic thing to think about is that all enemies are triggered by the scrolling so you can effectively control this and make sure you don't get overwhelmed by not rushing forward too quickly.

^^This + stick to the fixed shot types like tri-shot or Superball. If you make it to the tight corridor parts of this game the aimed weapon is OK, but I prefer Tri-shot of the two basic weapons. Oh, and be quick on the bomb button.
Out tonight so play on this will be little and late but up until the second level boss (which I can't beat unless I bomb the **** out of it) I've never had the super ball?
And I also get a flying shark power up to, with the planes flying in to help but not sure how I triggered this. It's always been when I have done the first level with no lives lost or bombs used I think
Really great game though and on I've always overlooked as I honestly thought you used a rotary stick with it! Haha

What SP items you get seems to be totally random (unless you already picked them up, I don't think you can get more than 1 speed-up or energy extend, but that damn Super-Burner keeps popping up like it's in season). I try to skip the speed-up (blue SP) in the first loop as you have a nice speed against the enemy bullets already and falling of the pathways into the darkness below is way to easy when you have a speed-up.

I'd like to know how to trigger them as well as they're cool as ****. You can also get a Zero Wing ship appear on screen flying in from left to right. If you shoot it, it will leave a trail of 5K bonuses, but the best is to let it move as far as possible to get the most bonus points. Another Toaplan fan service is the Truxton ship that's stuck inside your shots when you get the powerball weapon. A tip concerning the powerball is to tap the A button as holding it just spins the ball around you. Tapping also fires a projectile ball.

Yes, it's easily the best Toaplan game in my book.
