Re: Espgaluda (PCB)
I managed 8.2 by the end of L3 earlier then failed utterly on the boss...
No doubt Mark will have the no1 spot by the end of the day.

I'm out this weekend, but I'll hammer this on Monday. I'd love to play it all day tbh.
I just want the clear, then I'll worry about score

Have a look at some replays, it helps heaps. http://www.mrmonkeyman.com/videos/index.htmlkernow wrote:ahahah for at least a day or two anyway
I can't believe cools is on almost 13mill already, I must really suck at this game to progress so slowly, I have a real hard time scoring big, I think I need to wait for more enemies to come on the screen and instead of just killing one get my multiplier up a lot more by killing the others too.

4th stage isnt that bad.....the boss is kinda easy

L3 boss is a pig. Hate.
Got AF enabled but rarely use it, it's useful with vulcan shot or in overmode though.

Re: Espgaluda (PCB)
The "full auto on" setting is pretty useless (set it to "off" ), as it only affects the "start up time" for your laser really.. The 4th button will ALWAYS give you full auto, unless you hold down buttons 3&4 while pressing and holding start (this'll give you full auto on button 3 like in Ketsui and put the barrier on button 4 out of harms way )cools wrote:L3 boss is a pig. Re: Espgaluda (PCB)
How does it affect the laser?
Button combinations to swap things around can sod off, I'll move the wires in the cab instead

Re: Espgaluda (PCB)
I *think* that when the service setting for full auto is set to on, when you press and hold 'A' the laser won't appear as fast as when the setting is in off position.cools wrote:

The reason for this I guess (while being a bit crazy here) is that as auto fire circuits are very popular in Japanese arcades (special Mushihime-Sama panels with two of 'em set to different values even (for better scoring possibilities) are apparently used for example), CAVE might have made these circuits easier to use by postponing the laser appearance a couple of ms'. But (I know that theory sounds even more crazy now) why then implement a 'D' button with a perfect autofire as well? Even more surprising is that it seems to be a rather unknown feature, as it's not mentioned in the instructions nor manual, but only on the CAVE website: http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/espgal ... em_01.html
I agree that's more handy if you only play this on your cabinet. When I started playing ESPGALUDA, it was on my PS2 inside my EGRET II. I had put the autofire button on 'C', as that's more handy, but then when I got the PCB, it was really hard to remember that the buttons were setup differently. I didn't know about the button combination trick back then, sadly. So I reverted back to simple button mashing at that point.cools wrote: Button combinations to swap things around can sod off, I'll move the wires in the cab instead

Re: Espgaluda (PCB)
I'll have a go with the setting tonight. The speed that the laser activates does seem a little slow compared to something like DoDonPachi.
