Any one know why I keep getting 1large bomb or 4 fragments instead of the 1up on stage 3?i take the sides of and weaken it wait till it’s in the box then finish it off,but no 1 up?

You're either killing it slightly before it's in position or not destroying some parts of it enough, to trigger the 1UP.
Destroying each gun on the sides is not enough. You have to shoot it enough to leave a big hole on both sides.
From the guide:
"Please also note that you must destroy all the weapons on both sides of the hovertank - the rear missile launcher and the turret at the front - and the actual side sections themselves to trigger the 1UP at it's location. If you do not destroy both sides of the hovertank completely, the 1UP will not appear."
