Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
Stick it in your other cab & see if it does the same thing. I guess that will limit the question to is it just this pcb or all EG2 pcbs?

Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
I've had this! Never noticed on the AMI logo but I've seen that Cave logo on some cabs/(monitors?). Never noticed anything in game so never investigated further but its definitely an SH3 glitch most likely caused by certain monitors or PSUs like you say. I think my MS8-29 did it.

There are loads of SH3 boards here, and an E2. Will have to give them a try shortly.

Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
I'd be very surprised if this is caused by different PSUs. I would guess that these boards have a software blitter to a bitmap which would make it even more unlikely than hw sprites/tilemaps.
I would think that it's either a bug/oversight in one of the gfx roms, or possibly bitrot, although I'd really hope not for something of this age.
Does it pass self-tests? And do they cover the gfx roms?
There's loads of games out there with the odd stray pixel.
I'm prepared to eat my hat though.

Hopefully someone else will check theirs. There are plenty of owners kicking about.

Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
Kern, my Esp II does not do that. I just saw your pics and checked it out.
Of course I don't have your cab so I'm not sure how much that helps.

Looks like it's starting to go DOJ.
My G-Net behaves similar sometimes. Probably nothing to worry about.

Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
Its an SH3 glitch probably caused by different monitor voltages or something, its harmless I'm sure.

My Esp 2 doesn't have it Kern, I'm running it on an E2 also.
No big deal though, especially for a non-fussy gamer such as yourself.

Whassup man? I wouldn't worry, It's hardly noticeable.kernow wrote:Indeed
if it was me I'd probably be stupidly anal about it, but I wouldn't figure you'd mind so much.
When did you buy it?
If Pang has it on one of his boards I'm sure it's as commonplace as the rolling black pixel bar on the left of the screen?

Re: SH3 Cave board and a couple odd pixels
My espgaluda II has the does exactly the same thing with the blue dots on the cave logo , ive had the pcb in a new net city (toshiba monitor nanao chasis) and my aero city and both do the same but no problems in game might be nanao chasis problem.
It's all in the reflexes!
