[*]So Christmas just gone, I ordered an MVS board with a KoF '99 cartridge to use with my Supergun.
The board boots and te game plays, but there seems to be a weird issue with the shadows of the characters, the shadows are visibly made of lines. Everything else is fine.
Is this normal or is there an issue with the cartridge or MVS board itself?
A couple of people said it could be my TV, but as well as testing it on a more modern TV, I have tested it on a CRT too - and the issue still appears to be present.
I have attached a photograph:

I cannot see the photograph but do have a 99 to compare it with, but sounds like your game is faulty.

Sorry the picture attachment failed so I uploaded it to flickr. You should be able to see it in my first post now. The photo was taken from a more modern TV. But the issue is present on my CRT too.
You may have to open the image properly to the see full resolution in order to spot the issue. The thumbnail blurs it a bit.

I have just checked mine and I would say yours is probably ok. I am playing mine on a CRT and its hard to take a picture it seems each character displays their shadow in turn like the flicker you see on a interlaced frame.
As your picture is taken on a LCD it probably makes it look like solid black lines as on your picture.

I get the lines for the character's shadow on my CRT too.
Thank you for checking, much appreciated.
