I appreciate a lot has already been documented about CPS2 sound settings (being saved) depends on a functioning chip/part, but before I start with that route is there honestly anything else I can possibly try -
I have one A board that resets to full volume (39) after almost every turn off and on again.
I have one A board that the volume up switch does not seem to work at all, so now the sounds locked into zero
I have tried the 'hold down the volume buttons' for 5 seconds/ splash screen to hard reset, but that's not working. Are there any other simple tricks to try before I start tinkering with swapping components and following traces etc?
Thanks

Re: CPS2 A board sound issue
There's a supercap that may or may not hold settings.

Volume up and down can also be found on the kick harness connector. You could repin a connector and see if you can get volume increased that way.I have one A board that the volume up switch does not seem to work at all, so now the sounds locked into zero
