I just got this outzone for a steal. I took a chance since it was sitting on a shelf and it works flawlessly !!.....that is until you try to coin up
Anyone have any experience /ideas where to look here? I tried jumping the coin switch on the Jamma connector and it coins up that way.

I tried jumping the coin switch on the Jamma connector and it coins up that way.
So it's a problem with your cab, and not the board? Is your coin switch stuck? If it's a 3-legged switch, is the connector on 'NO / normally open' or 'NC / normally closed'? Check continuity between pin 16 and GND on the jamma edge connector.
Also, if you don't care for punching in credits, there's a free play patch for the game made by

I thought the TEST mode COIN2 OFF photo was a clue and you'd solved it. I did not intend to poke fun.

But you said it worked when you jumped it on the edge connector? That's exactly how it works on the cab too. The switch is just bridging coin input to GND.

How many pins are there on the coin switch?

My guess is coin switch is wired up to be always on. So when you press it goes off, by the looks of it. Board probably has problems seeing that. As evident by that test screen.

Wire up a button to coin 2 on jamma edge
And set coin 2 to on
And try adding coins there.

Check the 74LS240s near the edge, sometimes an input gets stuck. Could also be a bad resistor network for pull-up.

This is what I’m looking for , but I can’t figure out which one
. How would I find the resistor network? Continuity to ground? I guess for the 74ls, I’d be looking up the Pinot and seeing if anything is ground or open?

Are you still getting it to coin up by jumping the coin switch on the jamma connector?
