Naomi 1 Fan broken??

looks like you have ripped the middle out of the chip the heatsink was attached to :(

If that's the case its not an easy job to replace. For the cost of a naomi 1 board it may be as well to just buy another unit

I wouldn't trash it. The case and filter board are fine. Just buy one of the yellow smelly ones from Yaton and swap the mainboard over.

Ouch. This looks like a literally broken GPU. Mame describes the GPU as a "VideoLogic/NEC 'CLX2/HOLLY' chipset and PowerVR2 GPU (large BGAxxx, with heatsink and fan)". We already know how difficult the process of applying a BGA chip is but finding a replacement chip is already difficult enough (for obvious reasons).

That's actually a common fault. When post office treat parcels rough, the weight of the heatsink+fan assembly rip off the GPU die/core from the flexible PCB it's attached to. That happens with the NAOMI2 too. Since it has two holly chips it breaks twice as easy.
