EX Board not powering up

Post by Jan »

so my EX Board (just picked up on yahoo) is not powering up. -.-

i tried with Jamma only and also with a 3rd party psu (mine came without).

opened it up to check if any connectors are loose, but looks fine, infact the complete board looks brand new, not dirt, no dust.

any suggestions ? :(

Are you any good with a multimeter? These are just an ITX motherboard with a jamma daughter board. There is a small internal fanless ATX powersupply.

I'd be inclined to test the voltages getting to the motherboard. You could even hook it up to a spare ATX power supply if you have one kicking about

Check the cmos battery - I got caught out the other day with a PC that wouldn't power up, spent ages checking stuff to find the CR2032 was flat, replaced it with a new one and it fired up first time.

so, 11,99V reaches the PSU, nothing Comes out. I tried to attach the a ATX PSU (from Type-X2) directly to the Motherboard, nothing.

something ain`t right . How high is the Chance that both EX-Board PSU and Mainboard are defect ?

Have you tried unplugging the Jamma daughter board and just hooking the pc motherboard directly to an LCD monitor?

it will have lost its cmos settings so you'll have to guess what some of them were, hopefully no custom setting have been lost.

I'm in the same boat - have got it powering up but getting a cmos CPU multiplier set incorrectly press F1 to continue message.

Cant get into bios as it has a password on it.
