Is it normal for the PCB to auto start when you insert a coin?
Is the 2 player version not simultaneous 2 player?
Too many versions of this game....

No idea on coin, but there are 2 JP version. 1p only and it’s nails, 2p still nails, but a smidge less so

I don't have a board, just testing in Mame.
Not in Mame, no. It runs the attract screen normally. Go to the service menu and check that your start button isn't stuck.
There's two different sets in Mame. One has two player simultaneous, one is where players take turns. You have to change two roms on the board to swap between versions, 09X in 8J and 10X in 8L.Is the 2 player version not simultaneous 2 player?

Is the one where players take turns technically the 1 player version?

I guess so. I wouldn't call it the 1 player version though.

Re: Same! Same! Same! (Japanese Fire Shark PCB)
Thanks guys. I've been offered the Japanese 2 player (take turns) version, but really wanted the 1 player one...

Uhh, the take turns one is the "1P version". You play both sides with player 1 controls. "2P version" is the one with simultaneous multiplayer.
The naming is pretty ambiguous.

Most confusing game revisions ever!
So that "take turns" version IS the Japanese 1 player version?
EDIT: confirmed by trap15 also. The above is true
Thanks nem.
