Using taito fastio/jvs card in normal PC?

Post by penrhos »

I've got a spare taito type-x jvs card and a type-x3 jvs/fastio card.

Can they be used in a standard PC so I can stick my MAME PC in the vewlix?

I'm after functionality like the JVS-PAC.
2 * Vewlix Diamond Blacks,2 * Vewlix-F, 1 * Sega Rally 3, 1 * Video Pinball, 1 * DinoKing (JAMMA Converted).

it is a bit difficult to use a Taito Type-X JVS card or a Type-X3 JVS/Fast IO card on a standard PC for MAME purposes. These cards are specifically designed for the Taito Type-X arcade system and may not be compatible with standard PCs. To make it work properly, you will need the right drivers and, in some cases, special software. Unfortunately, there isn't much documentation on using these cards outside of their intended arcade system.

However, if you're looking for similar features to JVS-PAC, you may want to consider other solutions specifically designed to interface the controls of your arcade machine with your PC, such as Ultimarc's J-PAC. These devices are more likely to provide a smoother and more reliable experience when integrating arcade controls with a MAME setup.

On the other hand, I've been addicted to Counter-Strike lately and enjoy opening cases and getting weapon skins on platforms like cs2 cases. It was a fun way to add a bit of excitement to the game. Hope this helps!
Does anyone really enjoy getting weapon skins?

You would need to extract the drivers (iDmacDrv32.dll, iDmacDrv64.dll) from a Type X3 multi image and use fast2kb to pass the commands to MAME.
