Megadrive 2 Jamma Audio Amp issues

Hi guys,
this is my first thread, so i hope, i am not violating any rules. Used the Search function in advance, but did not find this issue posted yet, so here it goes:
i have been working on a megadrive 2 jamma solution - bare bones, including a Mono Audio amp to route through to my astro.
Controls, RGB, Sync, everything works flawlessly so far.
Now, as soon as i connect the audio amp, i get vertical line artifacts. audio works as it should, while doing so. as soon as i disconnect the ground for the audio amp, the picture is perfect again.
