Sega Naomi NetDimm Setup

Post by EveningCommuter »

Hey peeps!

I am looking to build a Sega Naomi NetDimm Setup and had a couple of questions.

1. How do I source a NetDimm? I see a few on eBay but every video I have come across everyone mentions they got theirs from 'china'. Is there something I'm missing here?
2. Do I need a Capcom I/O or a Sega JVS Converter? Would I need both to play the full library of games?
3. Is Naomi 2 hardware necessary? I was told that it is only needed for specific games like Initial D 3.
4. I spotted a google sheet a while back listing all the games that are available for NetBoot. It had also a chart of what is compatible with what hardware. Anyone have this?
(Found it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing)

Hopefully someone can answer my questions, thank you! :D

1. Probably yaton6262 on eBay
2. Depends what you want to plug it in to. A JVS cab is plug and play, JAMMA cabs would require either of the converters.
3. Naomi 2 is a different system. AFAIK Naomi 2 motherboards will run all N1 & N2 games.
4. No idea.

Thank you for the info. I am going through this shop right now. I plan on getting a Blast City once I sell all my Aero's other cabs. I however did find a King of Route 66, I just made an offer and if there is a Naomi 2 inside of it I will probably just part out the remainder of the cabinet.

So I went ahead and came up with a parts list of what I need.

In the event that I do not have the cables, how would I go about sourcing them?

Yaton, here or eBay are probably your best place.
