Hi forum!
I have a question about Seibu SPI system I want to be answered before proceed to clean two motherboards I have.
Question is about batteries. I read somewhere in the net that battery in motherboards is only used to back-up some record data and configuration when power-off the system. Then can I remove temporary the batteries from motherboards to clean them safely, and the put them back without any risk of ruin the motherboard?
My fear is that battery would be involved in flash storage of game when you put it first time onto the motherboard.
Someone could confirm me that removing the battery is completely safe?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Seibu SPI Motherboard battery
No risk at all, but you may have to relaunch the game.
The battery is used to save high score or game settings only.
The region key of the mobo is stored in flashrom u1053.
