cps2 D&D SOM PAL type and jumper setting
Hello,
Is PAL of D&D SOM G? Or is F?
I took over the used board, but the screen had problems.
When I opened the case, the PAL version was "F".
Please look at the picture on the jumper.
SOOS SO OSSOSO OSSOOSSO OSSOOSSO
When looking, it looks like a jumper setting of G.
however,From JP 8 to JP 13,
Setting of PAL of F?
IS there only one kind of jumper setting for PAL?
When examining it, there is information that "PAL" of D&DSOM is "G".

If "F" PAL is located, is this jumper setting incorrect?

PAL F is what should be in a D&D: SOM and that jumper setting looks to be correct as well.

Is F's PAL setting?

Correct PAL-F setting?

JP 14 ~ 29 looks like G's jumper.
For F's PAL,
Is the jumper the same in any game?

Re: cps2 D&D SOM PAL type and jumper setting
I thought the jumper settings were to accommodate the Mask ROM sizes rather than the PAL used? Have a look here, it might help clear up whether the jumpers are correct http://wiki.pcbotaku.com/wiki/CPS2_Epro ... er_details

Jumpers 01 to 09 select if Z80 EPROMs are 27C1000 (non JEDEC) or 27C1001 (JEDEC).
Jumpers are not about the game, it's about the memory type.

I see.Thank you for teaching me!
In the first place, I did not understand it well.
PAL and jumper were not related

With the description of the jumper on this page,
What do you mean by "A20" "A16" notation?

Re: cps2 D&D SOM PAL type and jumper setting
Address line 16 (A16), for 27C100x is the last address signal, allows reading beyond memory position 65535 (64KB)
Address line 20 (A20) , for 27C322 is the last address signal, allows reading beyond memory position 2097151 (2MB)
With 128KB EPROMs, if A16 is not connected right the CPS2 can't read the second half of the EPROM and that may cause glitches on the sound.
On 2MB 16bit EPROM, pin 32 is "BYTE" signal. That signal allows it to operate in 8bit mode. If socket is set for 4MB ROM and 2MB ROM is connected, when A20 is equal to 0 2MB ROM will switch to byte mode and data will read wrong, causing glitches on sound samples (socket 11 and 12) or graphics (sockets 13 to 20).

I see.
Depending on the content (capacity) of the EPROM, the reading method changes,
If you can not connect properly, trouble will occur.
I examined it, but the jumper was indeed normal.
I tried converting with Vampire, but there was a similar problem.
(I do not know much about D & D SOM, so I changed it to a game I know well,
I wanted to confirm)
Is this a GCA malfunction?

Backgrounds are perfect. Since the problems are only with objects (but objects are drawn correct, just at wrong places I think you might be right. But it can also be bent pin on socket or broken trace on PCB.
