Connecting an Atomiswave to an AWSD

Post by Yoshi »

This seems like it should be obvious, but I have acquired these separately and would prefer not to damage either. When connecting an Atomiswave mobo to an Atomiswave SD cabinet, do you connect the JAMMA edge for controls only and then the VGA-like connector for 31khz video and the stereo port for sound? The way I understand it, the dip tells the board to not use the JAMMA connection for A/V. Do I have that right? Anything else I should know?

edit: I neglected to mention power, but I assume that comes from the JVS connector and again not the JAMMA loom.

In case anyone else ever finds it useful, for 31khz, you can connect the VGA-like connector for video and the JAMMA harness for sound, controls (five buttons), and power and set the monitor to 750ohms. For 15khz, you can just use straight JAMMA and set the monitor to 1kohms. I haven't done stereo yet, as I'll need a custom cable.

edit: The dip on the motherboard needs to be set properly for 31khz vs. 15khz as well.
