I think he meant that he wants the crimp style instead of solder style edge connector.

Personally I would go with hirose solder style that emphatic linked to. Crimp style gets loose quickly in my experience.

Yeah, I already have a bunch of Hirose and KEL edges.
In fact like Zak said I'm looking for a crimp style one. To my experience the one of my egret2 stand strong. I would like to try the same on my pony
Since I like "KEL" I fould them there:
https://www.kel.jp/english/product/prod ... nts_type=3
but there is only "dip solder" or "wire wrap", no crimp style
1168 series seems to be the most common popular green edge as we can found by seimitsus store for example
4640 looks similar to the egret2 one but only with dip solder or wire wrap... (same for 1258N series)

Perhaps I could find it by Taito because I see they have the same in the Welix cabs, but no idea how to oreder from them..

Happ Jamma harness uses crimped cables, instead of soldered.

I doubt you will find a better quality Jamma harness than an original Happ one

Those kind of edges are from quick confection and made with poor materials, they are a standard for those who wants to buy cheaper but nothing equals hirose, kel and other japanese products, wether is at the level of the quality or the finishes. Btw, if the edge from the welix would be made in china, which could be possible since taito stopped to make a big part of their product in japan, I will stay with kel dip solder style, but I just would like to test the crimping style by curiosity since the one of my egret2 fitted well to me.

Taito used JST for the Jamma edge, as far as I know they have been OOP for a long time. Several of us have looked for new/old stock over the years, no-one has found them yet.

My friend soldered on new hirose connectors onto 2 of my Egret looms. No more random voltage drops when you breath on the edge connector now! :D

I'll ask him if he still has my old crimp style ones.

I see, thanks for this precious info. Now it seems logical since all connectors on those cabs are JST (particulary on egret series). That gave me an idea, I wonder how does AMP edge connectors looks like, if they have some of that size.

Zaki:
I'm curious to try, let me know ;)

Mike's arcadeshop has them, I think they're NOS:

AFAIK not available on the general market, but the Vewlix Jamma scaler kit uses a crimped jamma edge connector which they must have gotten from somewhere.

I have a few of those molex ones, they’re not great. I think they may have been used on Midway or possibly Konami woodies.

The JST jamma connector was really good and cleverly designed. Pin extraction was easy with no stress on the pins. I got samples from JST ten years ago but didn't buy any as the minimum order was like 5000. If I could buy them now I would. I tried to find it in recent years to no avail. This is the datasheet with part numbers but google searches are fruitless. Maybe in Japan there is still some stock.

Thanks a lot for this precious info Princess!! I also had a good experience of this edge, to me it was strong and practice.

Only the contacts would be expensive because minimum qty is 4000pces at 12,1jpy each = 440$. If we are two we only have to pay 220$ and package size would be small.

About housings and replacement keys: price and quantity is correct.

Other thing we can do is trying to find other interested people for help us to reduce cost for the contacts. In any case it would be a good sacrifice because those edges are some very interesting items. Let me know...
