CPS3 No CD pcbs

Post by Neo'nate »

I have a "No CD" CPS3 motherboard with 3rd strike, would this accept all other carts in an interchangeable way or are the no CD pcbs specific to 3rd strike with specific carts?

cheers.

If you connect a CD-ROM drive to it, you can get all of the games running on it (including regular 3S). However, if you want to revert back to the original No CD 3S, there's some trick involved IIRC (maybe a modified ISO?).

You can use one of Darksofts super bios carts to rewrite 3S back to the Simms for a no CD version cart. Or alternatively use a second set of Simms if you can lay your hands on some to preserve the ones you have ;)
