Post by snk80 »

hello
i just got a japanese xexex board.

i have problems on sound. i understood that are tipical for this game...
when i use jamma output sound is pratically 0 , i hear something but really really low
when i use external stereo cable , sound is just normal setting audio at maximum .. but anyway sound is clear and there is no noise
some suggestions ?

90% capacitor
10% costum chip

More than likely the culprits are the SMD caps on top of the sound module. Recapping is not a huge ordeal.

i think in my ignorance
if it would be custom chip sound was clear ?

all is perfect just low with stereo or ver very low with jamma.
so seems a amplification problem right ?

Get it sorted ASAP as the caps may have leaked and will eat traces and cause more damage than just the simpler cap replacement.

There is only a revision of the '054544' module. You can try to replace capacitors but this could not be enough.Module is not only capacitors of top but it has a digital to analog converter and a preamplification circuit on the underneath.I know perfectly how it work since I reproduced both modules and have figured out schematics.Contact me if you need a repro.
