Street Fighter EX2/ZN-2 Mobo Graphic Glitches
Hey guys, hoping there's some of you out there that are Capcom/Sony/Arika hardware experts. I've got a EX2 and EX2 Plus top board, that I've tested with this motherboard in question, and the result is the same with either top board, so fairly certain it is the motherboard. Please see below video of the graphic glitches. Any suggestions on where to start for repair? I've gone over the mobo with a magnifying glass, and don't see anything standing out that is damaged, obvious cold solder, etc.

The board was working when I got it from a friend probably 10 years ago, and it worked fine a the time. It sat safely stored away in an anti-static bag, for probably 3-4 years between the last time it ran with no problems and I fired it up to get what you now see.

Stupid question: have you tried reseating the Rom board?

As noted, I have 2 top boards - SFEX2 and SFEX2P, and have swapped them with the same result from either. They are firmly seated.

check if there is not a twisted pin on the motherboard slot
and look if there is not a piece of plastic bubble or other under the motherboard
check pin on Sony CXD8661R CPU & Sony CXD8654Q GPU
QFP chips, the pin floating

Re: Street Fighter EX2/ZN-2 Mobo Graphic Glitches
Thanks, chacal. I started looking more closely at the board this weekend. I found two surface mount chips with corrosion on the legs. I cleaned up the corrosion, resoldered, and found one of the pins floating. Fortunately I have another ZN-2 motherboard that is in worse shape, but has this area fully in tact. Tracing things out, I reconnected the one floating pin, but it did nothing. I poked at every leg on those QFP chips, to see is any were floating there, but they are all solidly connected. No immediate joy on that one, but I will pursue some of those other areas mentioned at the trouble log link.

Re: Street Fighter EX2/ZN-2 Mobo Graphic Glitches
So, taking a shotgun approach, is it get likely that the issue is at one of these chips: Sony CXD8661R CPU & Sony CXD8654Q GPU?
I was hoping it was similar to the cps1 motherboards and if you see this type of graphical glitch, it's a certain chip that's failing.
I will revisit those 2 chips, and may try swapping them off the other board.

It seems that it only occurs on the 2d parts, is that right? Have you verified the RAM ICs are good?
