Looking to do my first battery replacement on a Demon Front PCB, looks like the battery is starting to leak.
Any advise? Should I just solder the whole thing off from the board?

Re: PCB battery replacement advise
Did they ever do a Demon Front separate PCB? That's kinda cool.
PGM batteries are totally fine to straight desolder from the board. I've never had one explode or me or anything, they come out quite easily.
You should be able to fit a battery holder for a CR2032. There's usually a diode (one of a set of 3) + a resistor in the circuit to remove to stop it from being recharged.
I'm not sure where that will be exactly if yours is a separate PCB though.

Just snip the legs with wire cutters.

Thanks. Yes it’s a pcb and Korean version, besides the battery in mint condition. I have another spare battery that I will try to refit.
Nem, why would I snip of the legs? To reduce risk when soldering it off?

Nevermind, you had a replacement going in. Yeah, just desolder the old one and put a new one in.

Hi...I would not want to solder direct to a batt both because I would be afraid of shortening the battery's lifespan by overheating it, and, to an only slightly lesser extent, the possibility of blowing it up.I would think a conductive copper tape or something similar would save about the same amount of space and be both safer and make it easier to change out the batt when it dies.

Re: PCB battery replacement advise
To avoid a leak, solder it remote off the board
