I received a beautiful condition Shinobi board today and was very disappointed to find nothing but a black screen when I tried it on my NAC.
The seller kindly looked up information and found out that Shinobi does work correctly on Astro/Blast City cabs due to a missing ground pin. Would this also cause it to show a dead screen with no sound? There is power to the board as it lights up when I switch the cab on but I get nothing happening at all. The seller confirmed it was 100% working on his SuperGun when I purchased it.
If somebody could show me a picture of how the JAMMA converter needs to be jumped, it would be much apreciated. I will try doing to ground jump to see if it makes a difference. The board is 100% original (apart from the new 68000 and sound ROM) and in immaculate condition.
THANKS!

Re: Shinobi; Black Screen on New Astro City
Shinobi needs a Sega connector to jamma right ? Do you have that connector between the board and the jamma connector for your cab?

Have you checked the 5 volt ?
On one of my sega board i have to adjust the 5volt to 5.2 volt to get it to work.

Meh, turned out to be my JAMMA connection. It is dodgy, like everything else about this bloody NAC cab I bought. Such a rip off.

Is the JAMMA Edge crimp or solder type?segasonic91 wrote:Meh, turned out to be my JAMMA connection. It is dodgy, like everything else about this bloody NAC cab I bought. Such a rip off.

Re: Shinobi; Black Screen on New Astro City
Hmmm, I will have to check. It is the original JAMMA harness, the connection on the connection board seemed to be dodgy. Once I touched it, the picture worked. It was jumping around like crazy with Shinobi at first, but after playing with the JAMMA side for a bit, it settled down and was perfectly stable.
