Darksoft cps3 Blackscreen

I put my cps3 with darksoft Multi into the cab yesterday after a Long time and only got a Black Screen, nothing else ( some red flashes from time to time).

I have tried to Switch Simm1 and Simm two but no luck, Screen stays black. No menue, nothing

my config is 64/64 and 128/128/128/128, last game flashed was 2nd Impact.

any idea ?

It's the cart. Clean the edge connector. Pencil eraser and rubbing / isopropyl alcohol works well.

cleaned the cart and Slot, now it works again.

i hope it will stay this way.

The carts can be fiddly, yes.

That's how most of the battery protected carts did die. Connector becomes dirty, poor contact causes triggering of tamper protection and encryption key data is lost.

Problem is back, didn`t move the Motherboard nor the cart, just turned the back back on this morning, black Screen.

The contacts of the motherboard cart connector are going to be dirty as well.
I usually wrap something soaked in isopropyl alcohol like a tissue around something thin but stiff like a credit card and use that to gently clean the contacts with an in-out movement. Very fine sand paper would certainly work better and faster, but is going to kill the plating of the contacts.

all cleaned, starts in 1 of 10 or 15 times.

probably a dead solder Joint in the cart.
