I have a Triforce 3 with a network issue, in the selftest it says communication error when trying to test it.
there are lots of lights on the board when its running and it seems to detect if a cable is inserted or not (leds come on / flash)
I dont have a security chip for it, but i did try a naomi chip and that stopped it complaining at boot up.

Im guessing the sega network board to be at fault but wondered if anyone had any other ideas to try?

Sounds like it could be bricked.

do you mean just the network board that's bricked?
I do have a chihiro type 3 too can I just swap it out for testing? or do they have different firmware ?
