Taito Type X2 with SSFIV JVS Error.

Hi guys!


I have received a Taito Type X2 with original SSFIV game(HDD and dongle). The mobo starts and show the Taito Type X 2 logo , but suddenly, a black screen with that message appears on the Screen, and then, the mobo restarts.



The Namco Blanc Cabinet works fine with Naomi 2 via JVS and Namco System 369 via JVS... and i think the problem come from the mobo... or the game/dongle.

Any idea?

Network update DIP is set on ON.

Verify DIP #4 is set to ON--if it is, switch it off, and let it power cycle a few times. Game should boot with no issues.

if DIP #4 is off or the issue persists, don't know what to tell you

Pretty sure that's DIP #4, I've seen this before.

I have chanched the DIP 4 and the mobo shows the same error...

What I/O board are you using?

Do you have another I/O board or another cabinet to test?

I'm just testing with Capcom I/O converter and Taito Egret 3 Tosh PF CRT, and the mobo and games works fine. With the Sega I/O converter REV.B show one second the start, and suddenly, no more image on the CRT.

I want to know if another users with Namco Noir Cabinets and Taito Type X2 mobo, has the same problem than me... it's so weird.

I must to say that STD Connect PCB and JVS PCB works fine with Namco System 369 and Tekken Tag Unlimited 2, and Naomi 2 (via JVS).

I have asked about this problem to Jeremy Choi (Head Office), and here's his reply:

Our technician said the NAJV2 is not compatible with Taito Type X2 PCB.

I have no problems with Namco System 369 and Sega Naomi 2 mobo.

Please, users with Namco Noir Cabinet and Taito Type X2 mobo... you can confirm the info?

Yes, all the games run fine except for KOF98UM and KOFXIII which give the "COIN ERROR" message. I know this is a known issue but I was not able to solve it myself

Hi Again!!

I have some weird "news". I have received two new mobos X2 with the same game, "Super Street Fighter IV AE 2012.", and one (1) of this new mobos works fine, without the "Library Error".

Now i have two mobos X2 with "Library Error" (only on Namco Blanc Cabinet with NAJV2 PCB), and one that works fine!!!

The mobos are the same model, 208A with ElsaGladiac 7900GS and 500MB RAM.

No, all 3 TTX2 has his HDD and dongle with the same game.

I also have a multi and only works with the mobo that works fine on the Namco, the others two mobos don't work with the multi, JVS ERROR on the screen.

I sincerely doubt this is an issue, but it may be worth opening the TX2s and checking the revisions of the JVS board in the PCI slot.
