lindbergh yellow VF5 framerate

Post by codecrank »

Trying to figure out what's the issue with the lindbergh I just picked up.

It's a yellow with a 7600GS ( sega one, it has the 2pin connector in the back ). VF5 export is installed on it, it came from a burned DVD... so don't know if it needs a driver re-install ?

The intros and not smooth and drop framerate significantly here and there, so much that the sound cuts.
the background on the fight loading & continue scene is SUPER slow, crawling.
the actual gameplay doesn't lag at all though.

while it was running I opened it up and notice it was quite toasty in there. the case fan is missing... I ran it without the case but the problem never went away.

before I start dropping a bunch of money on HTOD4 and such , anyone has any clue what's going on with this ?

Thanks !

You need a 7800gs minimum.

If your getting slow intro and streamed sound the chances are dma on the hdd is not enabled.

Seen this if you use sata drives or if the hdd takes a while to unlock.

Put a new 40/80gb hdd and re-install.

so it turns out someone had installed this drive with an standard IDE ribbon instead of using a 80-wire cable... therefore no UDMA66+ speeds :)
