Triforce Type 3 Export - Fussy analog inputs

Post by footix »

Hello,

It's been long since I had a naomi. I was so pleased when I got a another one this week end!

Sadly it seems my Triforce went wrong. I can't calibrate properly the sticks. Game goes crazy even when no sticks are connected. On the team select screen, the cursor moves to the left from itself.

In the game, all the chars go up/left. Input seems not to be registered.

In the calibration screen, 1P X axis is registered as 2P Y Axis too. (so moves 1P X axis AND 2P Y Axis).

Looks like I'll need a new core board?

I'm **** feel upset! Help me out :p

Regards

Arnaud

PS: I know the analog wiring is good. I remade a minimal one to be sure. It plays 100% with my Planet Harriers.

It can't be the connector as the JST parts were sold by me - anyone need some? :awe:

Seriously:
Yes, the Triforce uses the I/O you use for the Naomi. Maybe you could test analog input on a naomi using the same i/o and joysticks? Or go to analog input test menu of the naomi and see what happens there

I would not get stuck by a simple dodgy IO :/

I tested another known good IO and it does the same :s

When I swapped out my Naomi 1 motherboard on a Naomi Universal and tested my Tri Force it was straight forward. All the connections are precisely the same. Certainly nothing needed to be calibrated other than the screen (as the dimensions of the game differed).

VS4 needs analog inputs. I'll try another core board today, will tell the results.
