Interesting to know that some games can be region modded and others not so much - I had assumed that wouldn't be possible due to the language differences between regions

I used the Japan code on my board because the Asia region wasn't available (Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter Asia 970620) but would prefer to use the correct code if it becomes available at a later date, but it's not urgent since the board currently works :)

Trust me, you don't want the Asia version... (grunts instead of japanese attack names being spoken on audio)

But it's possible to region change the particular version you have because the ROM is identical for all regional variations.

lol didn't realize the Asia version was that bad... I think I would prefer to have English text and everything instead of Japanese though, so perhaps the US or Europe version when it's decrypted is a better option.

Even with Arcade Hacker's tool for writing keys, having a battery on the board still exposes it to catastrophic failure. I believe that getting rid of the battery is the only really safe way of preserving the games. :awe:

I wish I knew what is going on, but I really don't lol. Just noticed that some games are easier on mame then on the real board. I'd bet it boils down to some obscure detail on the emulated 68000 CPU versus the real one. 8-)
