Hi,

I got a naomi MB which is working, but the zero gunner 2 cart doesn't work at all. When I turn the system on the screen stays black no sound no nothing. is this a known problem or is this cart beyond dead?

Could it be the Bios??i dont know much about naomi but i know some games need different Bios to boot??

You have the usual make sure contacts are clean and cart properly seated. Other than that, have you opened it up to make sure everything looks OK?

- Did you try another cart?
- Is it seated well? My ZG2cart was very stiff to insert. (Shouldn't stay black tho, but give error 01 instead of black screen.)
- Is there sufficient power? (or too much maybe?)
- Is the fan on/spinning when turned on?
- Try swapping out another filterboard from another working Naomi.
- From whom/where did you get this ZG2 cart?

ZG2 runs on any bios afaik

Try plugging it in without its plastic case.

Sounds like a motherboard issue, you should still get the bios screen

yeah. sounds like a mobo issue. check voltages. if it was cart related you wouldn't get a black screen, rather one of the many error messages...

Try to do the rom test.
For sure you have some bad roms inside the cart, like mine.

can't access test, just shows a black screen. motherboard doesn't even output a video signal.

fixed some bent pins/connector on the cart. now it boots to a black screen and if I enter test I get all ICs bad! soultion?

I would try and check if bending the pins/connectors back might have broken a trace by accident, or loosen a broken trace under the connector which was already making contact by chance.

Omg, the same problem on my ZG2, a black screen without sound and nothing
With the E bios the main board says not compatibility, but today with the H version, go directly to a black screen, all games runs except this one
I can when naomi logo start to enter on the naomi menú, all the roms are GOOD, but when i enter ti the zero gunner game menú the black screen out again

did you check the connectors on the cart? are all the pins ok? on my cart some pins where bent so I replaced them all but still won't boot...maybe I fried something

Count in me the club with a broken ZG2 cart.

Seems like a really poorly manufactured cart.

I get the same issue on my Naomi, I ususally turn the system off wait a bit and reseat the cart and turn the system back on. Usually works after that.
