CPS3 volume

Post by kernow »

I know this is a common problem on these boards, the volume will dip and rise, I was playing on Oro's stage earlier and it faded away so that I could barely hear it, and then came back 30 seconds later. For the next 30mins it was perfect.

Is it the sound caps or the (I seem to remember) terrible quality potentiometer they used on the board?

Cheers.

And who has a working 3S decryption cart and 128mbit flash simm they want to give me :awe:

Why not just replace them anyway? :awe:

f-that :P

it's only done it once so far, and I know its a common fault with these motherboards, not sure if its the caps or the pot mind you.

I don’t know if you can replace the sound pot easily. Last time I just gave my broken one away & bought a NG kit (they were £30 + P&P at the time)

RBG managed to get it working by pressing down really hard on the volume dial. Just don’t move it after that.

Ah, not a bad idea, its not all the time up and down, its just done it once so far and then went back up 30 seconds later, good idea though :)

Yeah my Street Fighter 3 New Generation has a similar issue. However with mine I only have the issue when I try to adjust the volume. If I find the sweet spot and leave it , it works fine. Let me know what you guys find out.

Same here, I just ditched the motherboard and bought a Jojo's off someone cheap.

In my case I'm sure it was the caps - it'd fade off after about 20-40 seconds and then remain almost soundless until a "cold" reboot.
