sega arcade guns to dreamcast

hi guys, i have 2 types of sega connectors. both will pug into dreamcast controllers. 1 type is a standard plug which plugs into a dreamcast the other type will plug into a naomi mobo. with this in mind. can a get an arcade gun made by sega, change the plug type and then plug it directly to a dreamcast ??? i hope that makes sensi. basicly i want to get a decent arcade gun and use it with a dreamcast. something like an uzi or a big bazookoid im just not to keen on the dreamcast guns. cheers.

Naomi era guns won't work due to the fact those guns use IR sensors. Only guns like Virtua Cop 1 and 2 are maybe hackable for use on the DC, but then you still need to sacrifice an DC lightgun for the PCB (so that the DC knows you attached an gun).

The short answer is no :awe:

Sega dreamcast/sega model 1 arcade guns uses optical lenses.

Sega model 2 guns uses ifrared sensors so you need to check what type of gun you have, you can see it at the lens model 1 is a see through and model 2 is black ifrared

So with other words model 1 should work in theory..

so im after a sega model 1 gun ??? are there any decent model 1 guns ??? can anybady post a link to a picture ??? as you may have guessed im still in the dark ages when it comes to searching the net. any help would be great. thanks.

To be honest its no use since model 1 guns are still around 50 gbp to 100 a pop they are more robust the lets say sega saturn ones but.

Beter get virtua guns from a sega saturn those are all over the place,those are like a tenner on the bay.

i dont mind killing a dreamcast gun. with that in mind any suggestions as to what gun to look for ??? at some point i may buy a naomi shooting cab. but for now a suitable gun will suffice. but i dont want a girly 1 i want something that i can wear war paint with cheers.

You can buy just any light gun you like even the baretta ones with force feedback the real looking one. And just swap parts out but you have to drop the VMU part from the dreamcast gun it s to large..
