MS. Pac-Man bootled on original SEGA Z80 board?

Post by keropi »

Again with another weird thing (at least for me  )
I got this original SEGA board and googling the part number reveals on MAME source that this board was originally Pengo :

but ofcourse it's not that simple, reading the eproms reveals it's a Ms. Pac-Man bootleg:

Anyone knows what's the deal with this? Old hack to make a quarter-munching Ms. Pac-Man from a Pengo?
I am unsure what to do with it - assuming it works .

Any help/info will be appreciated!
Thanks! :D

Correct. Pengo and Pac-Man are basically the same hardware.
