I have good memories of playing this game @ SEGA Joypolis 8-). Awesome that you've managed to get the game up and running at home!

Maybe like standard buttonlights on a Naomi/chihiro, Think start/view buttons on driver cabinets.

Yeah I was wondering if it might be something like that. Are they powered/controlled from the JVS IO? I had a quick look at the pinout but I couldn't see anything obvious, maybe the outputs at 51-56? I'll see if I can find anything out.

Pinout of the JVS? Yeah there's chanels for lights but they're not always specified in the pinouts.

Ah excellent, that should hopefully make things nice and simple :) I'll report back if I find anything out.

Just had a look at the Outrun 2 SP wiring diagram and the start button and view change lamps are indeed wired to outputs 51 and 54.

Looking at the CP in the video there are fourteen individually lit buttons but there are only 6 outputs listed on the schematic [here]. I'm wondering how all 14 lamps are wired up

Can you do me a favour and go into the test menu and see if there are lamp output tests and if so for how many lamps?
