Did Sega make their own buttons back in the 80s? I notice in all the original buttons from the Aeros I owned that it's a (slightly) different shape to the Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons.
Flat top, the sides/surrounds are not as flat as the seimitsus nor is it as steep as the Sanwas. It's actually rounded on the surrounds. It's lighter in actuation force than Seimitsus obviously.
Curious to know this as I have no info about this.

I think it’s just that sanwa had an older mold with slightly sharper castings than what they use right now. Buttons will change throughout eras, depending on the plastic mix, molds, and switches used

Old SNK cabs used omron brand buttons, wouldnt be surprised if sega used them too..
Omron are still around btw but they mainly make switches and electronics for the automotive industry..

Some of them also do have the larger omron G1 switches in them too. They are by far the best switches I have.

The SNK Omron ones doesn't sit right with me. They have a bit longer travel and doesn't register properly if you press anything but dead center.
