Konami's Ping Pong

Post by andykara2003 »

Hi all, I've always wanted to see and ideally buy one of these units, but have never seen even a photo of a cab, only a photo of the board.

It seems that no one seems to know a great deal about this one, which is odd as it's a really fantastic game with sublime playability - in fact my favourite 80's arcade game.

There's some info on the web on this, but nothing about the cab itself. Does anyone know about this, or own a cab?

Maybe it didn't have a cab ? Or just something similar to the woodie Konami salamander you see about I'd guess

<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Yes I think you may well be right. I remember reading that the PCB could be used in different cabinets. Konami had an obscure Jamma-type setup with their stuff. There must have been cabs set up with decals/artwork though. It seems that no photos exist of these, only the PCBs.

I'd love to hear from someone who has more info.
