It doesn't matter how many times videos like this get trotted out - I always enjoy them. Though, I suspect that if I actually ever went to an arcade in Japan, I'd probably be pretty disappointed by what most of them have become.

Red Bull's productions tend to be very high quality and I was particularly impressed by the level of research as they interviewed a number of key people in todays
scene.
I see the next episode is out now on indy games.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised, on the times I've been a busy arcade at a weekend was pretty magical and you may find games that nobody has even mentioned on the internet yet!Unknownsou wrote: ↑July 12th, 2020, 8:12 pm It doesn't matter how many times videos like this get trotted out - I always enjoy them. Back in 2000-2001? maybe, now in 2020? I don't think so, the wheel is already invented, apart from a non working, not yet released, or undumped title, prety much all arcade games are well known, documented and playable on a PC/Rpi emulator, arcades are dead for good, even those shown in the video have only a few years of life left, gashapons, food expenders, Patchinkos and crane machines will be all that we will see in those places in a few years.

Beautiful video, well shot. Thanks for the link. Smells like big nostalgia... Arcades are still arround in Japan but in many countries we will soon get to the point where teens would not have ever seen or went to one. We’re growing old
