It's possible there will be a 1-player scoring or survival mode, you never know. But at least the original and EXA game modes will be 2P simultaneous.

In the menu of the gear icon, the first option is to set the quality. You can go up to 3mbps. Its not perfect, but its better than default (at least in my case).
