Well....it arrrived. It's not as big as I thought it would be (that's what she said etc.).

I chose Type-D though, so it might be half the size of all the other ones :)

No. 36 here. Didn't take any pics as once you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Literally only had time to set it up and play one credit in Original. It looks fine in 1080p. I was never a fan of how this game looks in 15K. I imagine it looks pretty great in 31K but 3 Exa setups would be extreme even for me.

The sound is just lovely after only ever really hearing the distorted mess that is the PCB audio.

The game feels a bit weird at first. Slowdown seems reasonably accurate so I think it's just the difference in screen angle combined with seeing slowdown on the hardware when everything else is butter smooth.

I'm going to get back into Original for a while before trying Trap Label.

Getting a new version of SDOJ to play is a very welcome end to an otherwise **** year so well done team Exa. Props for the improved packaging too.

Whoever complained about Aka & Blue's difficulty is going to love Exa label ;)

It looks really nice. A huge improvement over the fuzzy mess that is the PCB.

I didn't feel any lag playing on a stock Diamond Black monitor.

I've enjoyed what I've played so far. got to stage 4 on 1 credit :awe:

Someone on Twitter posted the Japanese commands for choosing different things in the modes:

Here's my translation (input the commands at the title screen of each mode).

If you press B:

ORIGINAL
Overflow OFF > ON

EXA LABEL
Changes BD > DB

ARRANGE
Changes BD > DB

INBACHI
Changes to EXA label Inbachi

If you press C:
Turns Gadgets off in all modes.

If you press D:
It moves the screen up.

If the joystick is in neutral position:
ORIGINAL and INBACHI start with the original soundtrack, whereas EXA Label and ARRANGE start with the new soundtrack.

If you press RIGHT:
You change to the new soundtrack in ORIGINAL and INBACHI.

If you press LEFT:
You change to the original soundtrack in EXA Label and ARRANGE.

Kind of a long shot, but have any of you with a recent delivery of this machine run into an issue where the system no longer powers on? I got this delivered today and had it set up to play (and die) through stage 1. I backed out to the exa menu and upon booting the game again it crashed with a loud buzzing noise on the audio. Reboot told me there was some invalid signature and a power cycle after that I now have a brick. The PSU repeatedly tries to spin up and cuts out while the plug is in.

Sent an email off to support but I was wondering if there's something boneheaded I did or there's some small detail I'm missing.

Wow.

I heard rumors that the hardware is designed to brick if it's messed with. You would think they would be absolutely 100% sure that it can never happen in normal use.

Support will get back to you I'm sure. Just don't open it and void your warranty.

Sorry to hear that Sqrfrk. Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Exa Support will sort you out but it may take a while as it's the worst possible time of year.

This is the first time I've heard of any sort of hardware failure to be fair, apart from something coming loose in Jan's during transit.
