Anyone seen a cab like this?

Post by nem »

Bored at work and I was wondering what ol' JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.) was upto these days. So I found out he still somewhat regularly posts videos on Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/user/JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.)/videos

Anyway, I picked this one video, because it had an interesting title screen:

(it should auto-skip to 2:43)

What the heck are these things? Bat tops, control panels that tilt, upright cabs. The design cues remind me of Jaleco. Anyone seen anything like it?

the D+B souls of mischief remix

this is how we chill on methamphetamine

cabs are nice enough though they're a weird mix of a pony 3 and candy19 but it comes off like a pong cab with the simplicity

I still refuse to believe that JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.) is or ever was a real person.

Didn't he have a forum at one point where he basically spoke to himself, lauding himself over himself for getting a CPS changer?

I’d never heard of it but yeah, in his video description:

“Tokyo Disney Resort's StarCade game centre, long gone. September 2003.”

I like them. Custom made for the place and then destroyed?

Huh, there's a name I haven't heard for a long time. JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.) invaded a forum set up by some friends over 15 years ago, out of the blue. It was more than a bit weird because although it was ostensibly a video game forum, since we were all nerds, it was mainly a place for all of us who knew each other IRL to hang out online and talk ****. I think we all took the **** out of him until he left.
