Is it me, or did this deal just make it so everybody in europe can buy stuff from Japan without having to worry about customs?

Yeah. Doesn't look like this will have any impact on typical private imports. It's getting rid of tariffs on many categories of goods, but it's not a completely free zone like the EU

I've never paid customs duty on anything I've ever imported (cabs, PCBs, stools).
