The reason why the tape from the Holy Land is generally preferred is due to its adhesive properties when compared to standard packing tape, duct tape or masking tape; you can stick and un-stick this type of tape quite easily for extended period of time, while maintaining very good adhesion.

Once you've purchased enough PCBs from Japan that come wrapped this way, you never want to return to the barbarism of ill-fitting boxes and haphazardly-applied bubble wrap.

Haha. I bought the exact same model of apron that the staff over at MAK Japan wears in their daily work at the PCB shop. Does that count?
Piiiiicture :awe:

I wouldn’t let anything non-Japanese touch my delicate pcb’s. It’s why I only change boards in the exact white gloves Taito employees use.

Bags from the uk? The horror

Same here, I have a Japanese national who comes over to my apartment whenever I want to change PCBs in my cabinets.

Maybe that brand of anti static bubble wrap is not the best. But the jiffy brand anti static bubble wrap bags should suffice.

The bubble wrap bags are convenient and fit 80% of my pcb's.
Plus you don't need to learn the ancient art of pcb wrapping when using them :awe:

I will take my chances.

The difference :

When using a sheet, you put the PCB on it and then the extent of the sheet is put on the PCB.

When using a bag, you push the PCB inside something that could get stuck on comonents and possibly damage them.

I will never use bags with bare PCBs.
