[UPDATE] Video removed upon request from Arcade Heroes....

However, the loading times was based on publicly available commercial products.

In summary, the loading times for each game varies depending on file size, with bigger file size having longer loading times. Some can take 15-30 seconds or longer after game selected. Other smaller sizes take less than 10 seconds.
All I can say that for launch games, that consist of mostly upgraded versions from home versions, they are not a good value for average gamers unless being a serious arcade collector or lucky to find Exa Arcadia nearby.
Also for operators, having long load times with awkward transition to color and black, makes casual customers feel like the games are broken and only the hardcore would stick around.

As a current minimum viable product and having only one game per motherboard, the load time is tolerable. However, with multiple games, the time wasted for loading games and switching games can add up really fast. Unless Exa Arcadia can improve and optimize loading times, the game selection and loading methods are are similar to Taito Nesica and Sega All-Net with video snippets showing gameplay highlights and button combos for game select menu.

That's surely something that should have been considered at the hardware development stage. 10 second loading times in an arcade enviroment is pretty bad, 30 seconds and you'd wonder if the machine was ****.

In reality it's probably going to be some form of menu adjustment that masks the loading time.

However, the loading times was based on publicly available commercial products.

I never meant to bring the issue in a totally negative tone. As it stands, it is a promising minimum viable product (MVP) for the hardcore fans. I can imagine instant loading has been considered in the beginning, but not as high priority prior to the "soft launch" of Fall 2019 / Winter 2020. However, as for loading, today's SSD cartridges (SATA M.2) are not the same as the Neo Geo ROM carts, with there former having the motherboard read data from the cartridge, with varied sizes of games using the space; the latter are much smaller size and can be read directly. With the soft launch completed, plus the unlucky pandemic, it seems logical that Exa Arcadia would be actively focusing on improving the hardware, firmware, and software to be a more presentable product to the wider market.

For serious arcade collectors, early adopting operators (Arcade Heroes), and arcade fans that can afford the Exa Arcadia and games, this would be a nice thing to have.
As for other arcade operators or more average gamers, it may not be a good deal right now, primarily due to the varied loading times between the games when switching through the game select menu.

If anyone wants to have any Exa Arcadia games running without serious interruption, the best thing is to have one game per motherboard for ones with larger file size (Aka & Blue Type R, Kung Fu vs Karate Champs), and only have games that can load in 10 seconds or less (Infinos Exa, Lightning Knights) due to their smaller file size. Until all the games can run practically instant, as Exa Arcadia wishes to be the next Neo Geo, it may be the most realistic suggestion for operating the games.

Note: When Kung Fu vs Karate Champs and Aka & Blue Type R(evolution) both launched, they had much longer loading times before their first firmware update, which cut down loading times significantly, but not yet instant.

It is not when you are at home and inserted a disc in your console of choice. It is when you deposited a euro in a machine and are staring at a blank screen

I’ve never timed it but I’d be surprised if the colour fade screens when you select the game are around more than 10 seconds. Akyrios boots straight away, A&B has its own loading screen for a few more seconds. I can see that a “now loading” screen on the hardware end would prevent any premature refund demands from irate parents though.
