P-47 Aces Kai. One of trap’s favourites, reimagined. Includes widescreen and 4 player support.

Re: exA-Arcadia
It should have been Rapid Hero! Or Thunder Dragon 2!
P-47 Aces is still fantastic.

Casuals will go for horizontal shooters over vertical ones every time. Don't know if that holds true for Japan, but certainly the case for the west. 4P support would lend credit to -- that at least on some level -- casual audiences having been taken in to consideration. Arcade Galactic (and Mr. JBRGB) will be overjoyed.

Looks like KVC Lab will be selling display stands like the SNK one I already have no room for.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I just watched the stream. I have never played P-47 Aces, but apparently you score points by ramming into enemies and obstacles. In Kai there's now a button that 'let's you move for one frame' (however that works).
4P looks about as chaotic as you would expect. I think that's only supported in widescreen.
Not a fan of how low res graphics look like blown up to HD, but I guess there's not enough budget to rework the graphics.
The rest of the stream is just videos of already known (or otherwise uninteresting) stuff (Psyvariar, Infinos, Vritra, NoisZ, display stand for Pang).

Re: exA-Arcadia
I hope that's the only difference with 4:3. I'd be tempted if so. Never played it either.
Depends what else comes out this year. I suspect we'll see a slowing down of the release schedule due to COVID. They've got plenty of titles to sell already.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Many interesting guesses but the breadcrumbs were already laid out last year.
As I said at the end of the panel, there are 10 shooters in development.
Further announcements will be made at a more arcade focused event.
Horizontals appeal to a different crowd in Japan than verticals.
For Western audiences, horizontal is infinitely more popular with the casual customers who are already playing on our dedicated 2P and 4P cabs.
There is more to Aces Mk.II that will be revealed in the future - for both hardcore and casual fans alike.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Not feeling this at all and I don't see potential for western audiences, even casual players. With as much as these games cost they need some seriously good production value.
Maybe its too soon to comment, but for the money if I had to pick a horizontal shooter, I'd go with Vritra Hexa over P-47.
Where is strikers 2020, or Raiden IV remix? Hopefully they are part of the 10 unannounced games.
That display sign is cool, I'd definitely get that.

Re: exA-Arcadia
It may not be the game collectors thought about or wanted, but it will likely be a good option/addition for operators trying to leverage a 4P horizontal cab. I think there will be a nice 4P lineup with NiPPON Marathon, Lightening Knights, P-47, ... For an operator it could provide a lot of value/diversity in one cab.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Hopefully Shou will correct me, but IIRC, Mikado implied that an Exa version would only be made if the crowdfunding goal was met, which it wasn't.
I would like to see MOSS do something on the system. I seem to recall there was a picture of the CEO playing some A&B at JAEPO in 2018.

P-47 Aces is one of the few manic shmups on horizontal screen. It's blazingly fast.
