Cool stuff.

I take that means 480p is confirmed? Surely it doesn't mean 720p with borders on the side for 4:3 gameplay?

Great news, just waiting to see how to order now :D

I'd like to see a list of developers as well, that would really give a broader feel of what to expect in the future.

It must do.

Itching to get my hands on the hardware but I'm not sure Aka to Blue is the game to sell it to me, assuming it's regular arcade pricing. I suppose I'd better actually try the mobile game I downloaded months ago

Lets hope!
Would be really cool to be able to play on crt, for ex in a E3/NNC cab.

(I just hope the hardware is small...not like the giant Type X systems.) :shifty:

It makes sense for developers to support both resolutions for tate games with ports in mind.

Be careful not to set the bar too high :D

I'll have to just edit my post, I ended up getting more info together, good stuff. I will put it below.

Aka To Blue: Type R
platform: exa arcade hardware
game company: Tanoshimasu
year: coming in 2018

Type R s is a different game from Type S (https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=61536).

Type R is an arcade version of Aka To Blue by Tanoshimasu (http://tanoshimasu.com/) coming out on the new exa arcade hardware (https://twitter.com/exaarcadia). It was redesigned/rebalanced/remade for arcade controls and I don't know what other game changes were made yet. It runs on the new exa arcade hardware which uses some PC hardware components as well as a custom I/O board but here's the sweetest part about the I/O board that I think is big news: it was designed to kill input lag and has less input lag than competing arcade hardware.

Also the exa system can run up to 4 games at once where you can switch between them like a Neo-Geo. All new games for the system have to be developed to run at some very specific specs for example 4:3 31k and 16:9 720p will be universally supported on all games. So you can switch between 4 games at once like Neo-Geo and buy new games on the system knowing it will work on your setup.

There's a special version that will be playable in a few days at JAEPO (http://www.jaepo.jp/top.html)

Huge if true. Where did you get this from?

Seems entirely possible. Should be an easy port.
