I don't think it will be Deathsmiles. My guess would also be Akai Katana.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Apparently that was the least popular choice. Also, the existing Hardware can be made reliable with a new PSU, SSD, Case fans, decent thermal paste and general declutter
Here's mine decluttered:
Here's how it shipped
Heat combined with that flakey card reader killed a lot of these.
It's still buggy Software. The only way to guarantee that it plays perfectly is playing the game in the correct level order (that's also the only way to get both life cakes)

Re: exA-Arcadia
Cool pics Zak, thanks for sharing. Good to know that the hardware can be improved upon and made more reliable.
It's a bit of a shame Deathsmiles 2 came last in the poll. Ah well I'm sure the next Cave title will be something awesome all the same.

If it's Akai Katana Exa Label I suspect Jan will no longer be looking for a Limited Version kit.

I wonder if they'll add new scrolling backgrounds (past the first few seconds).Halloween Jack wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 10:21 am How good would that be Zak!!!

Re: exA-Arcadia
Yeah, that's bound to be it. Assets are already done. Someone just needs to cobble up a decent 6-level arcade game out of it, and they can market it as a new Cave arcade game.

Re: exA-Arcadia
There's certainly a lot of promotion for the sixth anniversary of the title, so may be an Exa release could be on the cards:

Bear with me here, but if this turns out to be any good I think it would be a nice fit for Exa.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I recently bought a vewlix with a dead monitor. I'm currently waiting for a universal monitor bracket and decided to test my replacement monitor while I wait.
I'm using a LG 32GK650F-B which is 1440p. I selected "4k" in the exa service menu thinking it wouldn't work, but sure enough the exa is doing 2560 ×1440. I'm kinda surprised because this is not advertised anywhere.
I played around with the monitor settings and it's showing 120Hz. The monitor can do 144hz max. So... does this mean the exa is doing 120 frames per second?
Aka & Blue is buttery smooth and there is no lag that I can notice. It's feels just as responsive as my Blast City.. but Jesus christ A&B is tough. The bullets come at you 1000 miles and hour. There is no slow down! I'm coming from old school cave pcbs so this is going to take some getting used to.
The mother board is version 1.4 and A&B is version 1.2, I'm running it on a Vewlix C with a Taito JVS I/O.
I ordered a DDP SDOJ kit and now I'm just waiting for that to ship. I'm excited to see what gets announced this weekend.

That's the screen refresh rate, not the frame rate.redfield0009 wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2021, 4:16 am I played around with the monitor settings and it's showing 120Hz. The monitor can do 144hz max. So... does this mean the exa is doing 120 frames per second?
