call me nancy, but offering a special edition of a hardware that is not yet shown with collectors items that will be named at a later date for pre-order at 2000$ is either a leaked pre-order page or some very silly marketing choice.
A 7 year old XBLA game is a very strange choice for a hardware launch title too.

It's not a launch title. Release is stated as early next year and interestingly it has the code "Exa 0005". It's easy money for G-rev to help fund their other two Exa projects, Borderdown 2 (coming to Kickstarter) and something unannounced. It'll have limited appeal for sure. I imagine it'll sell mainly to overseas arcades and Japanese ones without Nesica.

I‘m under the impression this is aimed at collectors.

Don‘t you think there is a seperate distribution channel for b2b customers ?

Ps is it even confirmed that the LE Version will have a „coin function“ ?

Hold up, Border Down 2? Now you've got my interest way more than Aka to Blue.

Any source for Border Down 2? I've not heard of it prior to this thread.

I was reading that (thoroughly interesting) Tanoshimasu interview on Shmup-em-all the other day and it made me think how awesome Gradius V EX would be. Far too many pockets to line for that to happen I would imagine.

Cave could’ve funded a completely new ip if they’d produced more boxes.

Shikhondo looks appealing to me, completly forgot about this.

but again, ports of 10$ steam games might be tough System seller  ,but i`d definitly consider Shikhondo as a second game.

I'd not heard of Shikhondo. Looks great. You're right that remixed Steam games are a tough sell to the home collector but they should do well in small Japanese arcades. It must be a dream come true for these indie devs to see their work in a game center.

I quite like DU3 on Switch so might consider Valkyrius and Shikhondo on "cart" eventually if the price is right.

Is Steam popular in Japan? Maybe I'm wrong but I get the impression it's not so some of these games might be new to players. Regardless, fans of the Steam game might want to try the arcade exclusive version. The op don't have to dedicate a whole cabinet to the game. If the "carts" are keenly priced they could have 4 of the "indie" shmups in there to tempt the STG fanbase and take 100% of the profits unlike Nesica.
