I don't consider that a bad thing at all. Not all arcade games are supposed to be super hardcore. I think many OPs would prefer more casual oriented games.

However, personally, it reminds me way too much of this:

Fighters have seen declining income for over a decade (even in Japan) and we believe a huge factor is how complex and overwhelming the genre has become.

No longer can an average gamer pick it up and actually play it. That’s not to say this game can’t be played skillfully but it opens the door for the casual consumer.

I'd put quarters into this game if I saw it in an arcade without even thinking about it. I guess the exa has 2 markets pulling at it, arcade goers and Cave and Neogeo fans who buy expensive arcade games brand new for home use.

I agree , tbh this puts me off from learning any new fighting games as it just seems hard work.

I think soul calibur was a good casual fighting game. Why not try something like this but in 2D.
