exA-Arcadia
Re: exA-Arcadia
I'm surprised anyone ordered one at all. Details were very scarce back then.

I believe the page was put up prematurely then pulled but they've kindly honoured the orders anyway. I'm surprised I wasn't the only one to be honest! Felt a bit of an idiot for jumping the gun at the time.nem wrote: ↑July 10th, 2020, 6:30 pmI'm surprised anyone ordered one at all. Details were very scarce back then.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I've had a sneak peek of the casework before (looks way better than the grey one shown at JAEPO) but had no idea they would be signed!
This will be going in the NNC.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I don't think it was a mistake. They made a video announcing the pre-order too: https://www.arcadebelgium.net/t5959-str ... hina#34746 and AFAIR there was a deadline for pre-orders.SuperPang wrote: ↑July 10th, 2020, 6:37 pmI believe the page was put up prematurely then pulled but they've kindly honoured the orders anyway. I remember that I wanted to buy it but didn't have the money at the time. So I started saving for it but I missed the deadline. I was also expecting that the system would be roughly the same price when released.
Surely they were over optimistic regarding the production cost and time but this release is a nice reward to early supporters of the system.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Location test has finished but there will be another next week as Maruyama still wants to tweak Hell mode a bit more. Seems happy nobody cleared it. Pretty cool to see such perfectionism for what could've been a quick cash-in.

Re: exA-Arcadia
At least it's a good think that Exa Arcadia are doing a lot more location tests in Japan to make up for the cancelled "Exa Arcadia Festival".
Various games went on location test and more coming, such as Nippon Marathon Turbo Hyper Running, Blazing Chrome AC, Fight of the Gods Arcade Edition, and Super Battle Princess Madeline.
This came up on my feed this morning.
I can only wish them the best of luck....

Dang it, I'm normally not a big fan of Makaimura but this one looks really nice!

Re: exA-Arcadia
In case anyone's interested, Tanoshimasu/Ge-sen Mikado is doing a crowdfunding for the release of the Aka to Blue Type R soundtrack. There's also a pledge for a 'home edition' called 'Magic Spice' which is limited to 20 copies. I doubt there will be any differences from the retail version apart from 'free play only' but it's still a nice collectors item (but pricey
)

~£3600 for the exA and cartridge bundle, limited 10 pcs.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I don’t really understand why “wasi303” is so explicitly named and even less why there would be a soundtrack edition. You could almost use it as elevator music. There is nothing wrong with it per se but it is very unremarkable at least to me
Re: exA-Arcadia
It does seem a but strange. Not sure if the arcade music is different to the Android version but that was bland to say the least. Psyvariar it was not.
Looks like the OST is already available on cassette, and CD.

Re: exA-Arcadia
No love for the soundtrack here?
I'd say it's one of the best efforts in the last decade for a shmup soundtrack, but then again I really like rock style soundtracks and the whole Heavy Metal Raiden covers from Raiden etc. I guess it's each to his own.

Because he's the composer?
Re: exA-Arcadia
It's not exactly standard to have tthe composer named so prominently. Since it is pretty average at best (i think this is not just me but what most peoples opinion on it is) i don't see why for example it warrants getting spammed by who made the music when you start a new game to name something.
Why not include the coder or graphics dude while you're at it?

Re: exA-Arcadia
Um yeah... it's a soundtrack... that's why you would name the programmer... or the graphic designer... ok... carry on
