While browsing eBay I came across the following strange board, described as "Magical Drop II Japanese arcade board". "Original".
However, there is no such thing as far as I know (a Jamma PCB Magical Drop 2 release)!
Closer inspection of the pictures gives us some hints: "Deniam Corp.", "Made in Korea".
This nice history (http://hg101.kontek.net/korea/part2/company-deniam.htm) of Korean gaming mentions that this company started out in shadier bootleg territory before putting out a couple of legit titles in the nineties. They seem to have localized some ST-V titles as well... "Karian Cross" seems to be their most famous (original) title.
I find it near impossible to find more information on this release. It can't be found in the following fairly exhaustive Korean release list (http://hg101.kontek.net/korea/gameindex ... etitle.htm) or this conversion list (http://hg101.kontek.net/korea/gameindex ... otitle.htm).
So what's the deal with this title in your opinion... Is it just a beautifully made bootleg, or is there any chance of this being an officially mandated localization of Magical Drop 2?

Re: Magical Drop II PCB oddity
My thoughts are in the 'nicely made bootleg' territory. Especially given some of the chips in use.
But... if it's not too pricey, I'd still take a look at picking it up

Re: Magical Drop II PCB oddity
Well, mystery solved.
I cropped the title from the manual picture (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aDIAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg), ran it through OCR and fed it to Google Translate.
What came back was "Logic Pro 2". Which is a title by Deniam Corp, listed on this page: http://hg101.kontek.net/korea/part2/company-deniam.htm.
So it's not a MD2 PCB at all .

The Actel chip is on millions of 90's bootlegs.
